Chad Kish played high school sports at Fox High School in the St. Louis suburb of Arnold, Missouri. "He was a coach on the floor and a valuable asset to the Fox program," stated Jim Wright his high school coach.

Chad Kish just completed his fourth season as an Assistant Coach at Mineral Area College, and spent a week as the Interim Head Coach (1-0).  The Cardinals have had an impressive run since he joined the staff, compiling a 91-38 record.  The Cardinals won 19 games; defeated #1 ranked Cincinnati State, and won the MCCAC Conference Championship in 2008 (third Conference Title in Kish's 4 years).  Mineral Area finished the 2007 season three points away from the National Tournament with a 23-11 record, and were ranked as high as #2 in the National poll.  In 2006, the Cards went 28-5, including: NJCAA Region XVI Championship, Undefeated Region XVI regular-season, Undefeated MCCAC Conference Championship, ranked #13 in the NJCAA final poll, while tying a school record for wins in a season.  The Cardinals finished 21-10 and captured the 2005 MCCAC Championship.  In Kish’s four seasons at MAC, he helped to produce 2 All-Americans, 13 All-Region selections, 26 All-Conference players, and an Academic All-American.

 

Before coming to Mineral Area, Kish spent two seasons as an Associate Head Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at St. Louis Community College - Florissant Valley. Kish assisted legendary head coach Larry Graham and the Norsemen complete back-to-back 20 plus win seasons.  Florissant Valley was an impressive 43-19 during his tenure and earned a 12th place NJCAA Final National ranking in the 2004 season.  Kish was also honored as a member of the NJCAA National All-Star Game coaching staff in 2005, helping lead Team USA to a 110-108 victory during the NCAA Final Four festivities in St. Louis, Missouri.

 

Kish, originally from Arnold (Fox High School), graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor's in Physical Education.  He began his coaching career as a Student Assistant at Southeast Missouri, and spent two years working with Ron Shumate (two-time NCAA-II National Coach of the Year).  He spent three successful seasons at Scott City High School, where the Rams were 79-12 and captured three District Championships and three Conference Championships over that span. Scott City was also ranked #1 in the Missouri Basketball poll in 1997. He spent a season as the Head Basketball (14-11) and Baseball Coach at Naylor High School before starting a basketball recruiting service (HoopStars Midwest).  Kish returned to college coaching and spent a season as the Head Coach at East Central College (Union, MO). He is very proud of the fact that he has been able to place 59 of his former players in college scholarship situations at the next level.  Chad is the son of Charles and Sharon and resides in Bonne Terre with his chocolate lab Kodi.  He also serves as the Wellness Center Director and Sports Information Webmaster at Mineral Area College.
